I’m trying to find a fully clear screen protector, but it’s been hard. What’s up with this trend? I asked my main supplier, and they said, ‘Why not?’
Spigen had a completely clear option with no border.

I agree with Spigen.

I third this. My only issue, which might be my fault, is that it sometimes feels like it’s not registering my touches, but maybe I’m just not pressing hard enough.
@Charlie
I have the opposite problem where it seems to register a press before I actually touch the screen.

This is the way. It has the easiest application system.

Zagg offers clear options too.
I got an amFilm one for my 16P that doesn’t have a black border. I did notice a weird rainbow effect on the edges, though. Not a huge deal but it’s noticeable.

I’ve heard that’s why they added black edges now. It’s supposed to help with light bleed around the edges.
@Branley
True, but most of them reduce the screen size. I bought one that claimed to cover ‘all the screen,’ but I ended up losing half a millimeter all around. I hate that. I now have a clear one, and it doesn’t have the rainbow effect.

I had that in my cart, but from review pictures, it looked too small? There seemed to be a gap of about 3-4mm between the protector and the phone edges.
@Hollis
It’s definitely not too small. It fits fine and allows you to use a case.
They add the black edge to prevent rainbow light refraction when you look at the edges at an angle. But really, if they just made the protector a bit bigger than the screen, they wouldn’t have that issue.
Not sure why they started doing this, but I dislike it too. It makes the bezels look bigger.
The new ESR options for the iPhone 16 Pro series are clear. But honestly, I like the ones with the black border since they blend in better with the phone’s edges. Most came with good application tools, so I never had a problem. But with how thin the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s borders are, I see why some are made without them.
Zagg has clear ones available at every Best Buy.

People hesitate because of Zagg’s price, but you can ask for a warranty swap anytime without questions. You don’t even need to return the old one.
@Taj
This is exactly what I do. Anytime there’s a tiny issue, I go in and swap it out. I bought Zagg’s most expensive $60 protector because of the warranty swap, and it will always be there even years later when their cheaper ones are sold out.
I got a 2-pack of Anker protectors, and they have no border. The OtterBox one I bought first also didn’t have one.
Ask for a screen protector that’s screen-sized, not edge-to-edge, if you’re okay with that.
