Question about some notifications in a group message (I have iPhone and pretty sure other two have Samsung and/or Android)

Usually when someone likes a text message or photo (or loves or reacts, the reaction is right next to the message or photo. Well this is in the actual conversation itself

Does this mean the photos were deleted? Is this a group chat (more than 1 thing) or can this happen when messaging just one other person. I am the only person who has iPhone (girlfriend and Mom don’t want one for whatever reason). Thanks.

the phone doesn’t know how to match the reaction to the photo, so it shows it as a message, this is normal

But usually it will show the heart or thumbs up or whatever right next to the actual photo

Not after RcS, the other phones likely haven’t updated to allow RCS.

@Zimri
This I can see because my mom and girlfriend don’t usually update like me; I always update everything

Should get them on that… they need the security updates for real. See if you can sneak on and set it to auto update

@Zimri
RCS on iOS does not have native reactions. It still sends the same old “Liked xyz” text message under the hood and tries to parse incoming ones as a reaction.

iOS RCS is based on UP 2.4, whereas reaction support was only added to UP 2.7 in June 2024.
