iPhone 13 Green Screen

Hi, I was just charging my iPhone 13 and this happened all of a sudden. My phone was completely normal 10 minutes before, and there are no fall or water damages to my knowledge. My iPhone is on iOS 17.7.1 when this happened. Does anyone know what’s the issue here, and if it’s fixable without having to go back to Apple for servicing? Thanks :slight_smile:

Perform a hard reset by quickly pressing volume up, then volume down, then holding the power button until the device restarts. If that doesn’t fix it, take it to Apple.

I’ve tried and it doesn’t seem to work. The best thing is, I can still hear the haptics and notifications coming in, but the screen still stays green.

Did the device restart?

I felt like it did, but I can’t tell because it just turns black for a while and then goes back to the green galaxy screen mode.

Okay, yeah, it did restart. My guess is it’s a bad display panel, but it could be a plethora of other things. Regardless, it’s definitely a hardware issue. Take it to Apple, a technician, or, if you’re feeling brave and have 2-3 hours of spare time, you can replace the display panel yourself.

Yeah, I’ll probably take it to Apple. Still, it’s a bizarre scenario for this to happen.

Agreed, but stranger things have happened with phones… cough cough Galaxy Note7 cough cough.

Ok, new fear unlocked.

I also faced this issue last month. I was scrolling through Facebook, and all of a sudden my screen started blinking and turned green. I contacted Apple support and explained what happened. They set up an appointment to check my iPhone, and it turns out green screen issues are very common for the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max due to the 120Hz display. Apple acknowledged this issue and gave me a free screen replacement for my iPhone.

@Hadi
Oh wow, really? Is it a software bug of the 13 series or just that the LCD screens are dead?
