I need opinions!
I need to decide for a new phone and 15 Pro Max and 16 Pro in 256 GB cost the same with my carrier.
I run a company and I am traveling moderately so I do read, write and reply to mails, texts etc on my phone quite a lot. I do also have a 13 inch iPad Pro that I use for work etc.
I’t watch films or shows on my phone, only instagram etc.
I think I would really like the screen on the Max for typing etc but I don’t know if the benefits are good enough to have a more uncomfortable phone with me all the time.
Anyone having experience with that decision, given my used case?

I have the pro max. Wish I got the pro. Will be patiently waiting for iPhone 17 pro to come out
Again, no, why do you keep wishing for something arguably worse just because it feels better in the hand…? Pro Max is by FAR the better choice because of the better screen for gaming, the huge battery to support it, an amazing screen for the camera, the list goes on…Not really judging you for going for the normal Pro next time but you shouldn’t regret the Pro Max this time, either. You wouldn’t even have the 5x optical for the camera if you chose the normal Pro this time on top of having a gorgeous screen for gaming or watching stuff on. The battery on the normal 15 Pro is also pretty horrible—lots of complaints. So I utterly guarantee you would be saying “wish I got the Pro Max”, and probably will in the future once you start missing how good this screen is
It’s biased here. I have used both phones. The 16Pro is a better phone. It has amazing battery life and a so much better chip for future-proofing 48 ultra-wide. Thinner bezels make it look more futuristic. The new styles are amazing for editing photos, etc.
I used pro -> pro max -> pro. I stick with pro. While the larger screen is a plus. Pro works better for me. If you have big hands so that your thumb could reach across the entire phone when holding with one hand, then pro max can work for you.
There literally the same exact thing - other than size / battery size and the camera slide on the 16 pro
I upgrade normally every year , and this is the first year I don’t feel the need to upgrade , as the 15 pro I own is probably one of the favorite iPhones I’ve ever owned
I have both the 15 pro & 15 pro max (I use both regularly) but the 15 pro is my favorite!! The size is absolutely perfect & easiest to type and do things on , especially with one hand
Views here are probably a little skewed. I get unlimited anytime upgrades from my carrier. I have the 15 PM. When the 16 came out I went to the store and tried it out. The new camera button is pretty slick but not enough for me to trade in my phone and pay sales tax on the new one. The 15 PM and the 16 pro are damn near identical in specs and performance. The 16 has a newer chip so that should get you an extra year of OS updates but honestly, for my money, the 15PM in blue is the way to go. The bigger screen and longer battery life is essential for me. I have had this phone since June 1st and only have 91 charge cycles on it. I get great battery life.
I would only factor in screen and battery size for your decision, 16 vs 15 thing is an insignificant factor. They are 99% the same.
For me personally I feel that the only reason to not buy a Pro Max is if you really can’t stand the size. If you find it to be fine, just go for the Pro Max.
I’d go for the 16 pro. I had the same dilemma when I had to choose between the 15 pro and pro max. I went to a store and held them side by side. The smaller screen is easier for one hand use.
As a user of iPhone 11 Pro Max, then 13, then 14 Pro and now a 15 Pro Max, i suggest going for the 15 Pro Max.
Yes, it’s a bit uncomfortable having a bigger screen but the battery size is worth it. I manage to get up to 10 hours of battery life on the 15 Pro Max due to the size of the battery.
Going from the smaller devices (13 and 14 Pro) did take me about a week to get used to the bigger 15 Pro Max but I am happy with the decision I made.
I have had my hands on the 16 Pro and used it for a couple of hours for web browsing, social media scrolling and a bit of gaming and I was a little disappointed with the battery.
Final decision will always be yours but you have my personal opinions if you would like to take them into consideration.
Everyone’s opinion will be related to their individual likes and dislikes.
Here is my personal opinion, my 2 cents worth….
I absolutely love my 15PM. I did not see the need to upgrade to the 16 mostly because I wasn’t sold on the camera button. I use my camera on my phone a lot. I come from an SLR and DSLR background, that should tell you how much I love photography. Now that the iPhone captures in raw format, I have moved away from carrying my gear with me BUT I always have my phone.
15PM all the way for me!
