Why is the clock hidden by the tree on my lock screen? I didn’t mess with anything…

My lock screen clock is being covered by a tree in my wallpaper. I didn’t change any settings. How do I fix this?

Have you thought about cropping the tree out so it doesn’t overlap?

But they already said they didn’t change anything!

True, but it still might need some tweaking to fix.

This is how it’s supposed to work on the newer iOS versions.

I noticed other wallpapers don’t do this, though?

It depends on the image. The system adjusts the clock based on how it fits with the picture. Some of the default wallpapers have this behavior too.

Try pinching to zoom in or out when setting your wallpaper. That way, you can move the clock where you want it.

That wallpaper is amazing! Where did you get it?

I think it might be one of their own photos.

I’m pretty sure I found it in a photography section on this forum.

Just press and hold on the lock screen, then pick customize. Select your lock screen, tap the three dots, and turn off the ‘Depth Effect’ option.

No need to sound frustrated… not everyone knows this.

@Yule
This feature was highlighted in one of the major iOS updates. It’s pretty well known.

Edit: Why the downvotes? I’m just saying it was part of the customization features introduced by Apple.

That doesn’t mean everyone keeps up with updates. There’s no such thing as a dumb question.

If they don’t know, they could just search it online. It’s faster.

Google’s faster, though. I’m just saying.

Typed in exactly what OP said and got answers in seconds, even links to this forum. But to each their own!
