Screen protector help

Hi, I am on my umpteenth screen protector. Some reason, I keep dropping my phone. But the screen protectors aren’t as strong as they used to be. A drop from my hand on my carpet starts a crack. I’ve invested in what I thought was good ones because of price etc, nothing is working. I also have the phone case purchased directly from Apple! Where do you get yours from? Suggestions?

Screen protectors guard against scratches, not drops.

It’s my understanding that the more crack-resistant a screen protector is, the less shock it’s absorbing and thus transferring to the actual display.

Screen protector easily cracks = more shock absorption, protects actual phone display more

Screen protector hard to crack = less shock absorption, doesn’t protect actual phone display as much

Have you tried otterbox screen protectors? They have a lifetime warranty so if it cracks, contact them and theyll send you a new one.

You have a case, right? Please ignore the douchbag saying you dont need a screen protector.

I use an ailun screen protector since they’re like $5 and a spigen hybrid case. the case come out fast enough for it to keep the screen protector from scratching on flat surfaces.

Also, is there such thing as a high quality screen protector? I get there is sapphire and such, but I though glass was just glass

I get mine at Best Buy. They have a warranty and you can replace them anytime. It costs about 50 but well worth it.

I bought one from Opulente.eu because I also bought a case from them and it is just super good

At that rate just get apple care. Screen replacement is only £25.
Or dont use glass screenprostector.

Thank you all - AppleCare might be the best option because no point if I’m spending the same amount bi monthly for cases. Will invest in a better case too (thought the £50 one from Apple was the best to buy)!

@Oren
Casetify are better and more expensive too + materials

Cases dont always protect the screen so they need a screen protector too. If theyre cracking their screen protector, what do you think is gonna break when they dont use one🤣

@Ren
Screen protectors don’t prevent cracks. Scratches, sure, but they are largely useless. These screens are designed to be touched. You don’t need to put a plastic sticker over it. A good case will prevent cracks.

@Zephyr
All of what you said is incorrect bro. If op has dropped his phone and cracked numerous screen protectors but his screen is fine- thats the screen protector protecting his screen. If the case has no bevelled edges your screen has zero protection. If you drop something on your screen the case isnt gonna protect shit. I really hope you have apple care. This is bad advice🤦‍♀️

@Ren
So, if your case doesn’t have raised edges to protect your screen from falling face down, it’s a bad case. I’ve never cracked a screen, and I drop my phone a lot. If I lay it down on a table/counter, it’s always face down. You don’t need a screen protector. You can waste money on them if you want.

Guess what. You don’t really need Apple Care either. There are a number of credit cards that provide complementary phone insurance provided you pay your wireless bill with it.

@Zephyr
Omfg stop talking and never give anyone advice again. Credit card? Im happy thats applicable to YOU. Not available in my country. Wireless bill? I bought my phone outright and providers dont pay for your apple care here even if you dont. OP DONT LISTEN TO THIS NONCE. GET A SCREEN PROTECTOR.

I haven’t had a screen protector installed on any of my iPhones since Gen 1. I’ve dropped them many times and never even chipped a screen. Throw the “protectors” all away and just go commando. Go and live your best life and don’t worry about it, especially if you have AppleCare.
