Is it just me or does anyone else feel this about the 16 pro too…

I just upgraded to a 16 Pro Max in black. I came from a natural titanium 15 Pro Max.

Why does it feel like the side rails have significantly downgraded and feel cheap like the aluminum regular now…

Considering both are titanium, but the brushed titanium on the 15 Pro Max made it feel much more premium than this new one.

Also not a fan of the fingerprint magnet that it has become.

PS: If you’re wondering why I did such a tiny upgrade: my work provides amazing deals for financing and mobility plans every holiday season, so I take advantage of that :slight_smile:

It hasn’t ‘become’ a fingerprint magnet, you switched to black, which shows them more prominently. My experience is that the new coating on the titanium this year helps minimize fingerprints significantly.

@Blaise
Right. I came from the same natural then to black.

It’s the DLC coating of black paint that causes the fingerprints. Black shows smudges and fingerprints, but brushed titanium or steel does not.

The 16 Pro Natural Titanium feels great, you probably should have gotten that.

I wanted to try something new as I had the natural titanium 15 Pro Max. My choice was black, or desert titanium, but it was claimed by other employees and the deal ends today :frowning:

I actually like the feel of the side rails so much I took off my dbrand skin that was covering it and just did the back skin.

Even saying ‘upgrade’ is a big word.

I was using the 15 Pro with a Samsung panel, but my 16 Pro has an LG panel – worse screen.

Ultra wide camera – worse on the 16 Pro.

Ugly cases – downgrade.

Only the battery life is better.

@Jade
I decided to ‘upgrade’ since I’m barely actually paying anything, so I just wanted to get rid of my 15 Pro Max. I didn’t want its value dropping drastically. I had a lot of battery and other hardware issues with it too… I got it replaced twice this year through AppleCare+ (for free though).

@Jade
That’s your own personal view, and I respect it. But I don’t totally agree. We have a 15 Pro Max and a 16 Pro Max at home, and honestly, the 16 is an upgrade in every way. Not a huge upgrade, that’s why we kept the 15 until next year, but still a noticeable difference.
