You have Dark Mode for your phone UI turned on but not your icons. Press and hold on your Home Screen, click ‘Edit’ in the top left, then click ‘Customize’ and select Dark. This will change your icons to dark icons. It was a feature added with iOS 18. You can also make your icons larger if you want, and it will remove the text underneath them. Keep in mind, using dark mode for your icons also darkens your wallpaper, so consider that if you have a wallpaper you like.

I’m pretty sure you can fix that by toggling the grey sun icon on the menu where you select dark mode for icons. That’s what worked for me—it kept my icons dark but didn’t darken my wallpaper.
