How to hide recent photos in new photos app

So… I have a big problem. The preview of the most recent pictures at the top in the new photos app. Is there a way to hide it? I can’t find anything about this. Like I don’t wanna accidentally open the photos app in public or a friend and have some stuff in my screen I don’t want someone else to see :weary: No but in all honesty, is there a way to hide that? The whole concept of the recents album is stupid, but now it’s even worse.

Scroll all the way down > Customize & Reorder > Hold Recent Album and drag it to the bottom. Now it will not be on top of everything else anymore, but is still visible if you scroll down long enough. Be sure to also drag the Pinned Collection down too since it includes the Recently Saved album.

As for recent pictures, then there is really no helping for it, it’s just how every Photo Library app works since the dawn of camera on phones, we are at the mercy of the next iOS update.

Yeah I’m actually talking about the array of pictures it shows immediately at the top. What has been the “recents” folder before. Before it wasn’t too bad, because it was just showing as a folder/album as everything else, but since they decided to put it on display at the top… that’s even more frustrating, because it looks cluttered.

Hope it was helpful for you. BTW, there is a way to not embarrass yourself (as you said) with the Photo app. You can assign FaceID to it and with the Attention Awareness feature: whenever you accidentally tap the Photo app, just look away and the app will not unlock, thus none of your personal oopsies is revealed. Would have been much better if passcode is allowed, that’s all we have for now.

There’s also a hidden folder for spicy photos. This can also be locked with Face ID

Oh yeah I know, you just can’t organize stuff in the hidden folder, so it makes it a mess as well

You can change the filter to show old vs new pics. Hide them manually. Like someone else mentioned lock the app.

But locking it doesn’t change the fact of all the recents showing up. And hiding puts them in a folder that’s unorganized again and makes it difficult to find stuff, since I also hide other stuff

@Noor
I have my recents set to the bottom like it has always been. In terms of it going straight into photos when you go into the app, there is no way to change that.

Yeah that’s what I figured sadly.
