Hi everyone, I lost my phone six months ago and have been getting strange spam texts ever since. They include poorly worded instructions and pictures telling me to remove my Apple ID activation lock. There are no links to click, but the messages are constant. Has anyone else experienced this, or are these legit?
They want to resell your stolen phone but can’t until you remove the activation lock. Don’t do it.

But doesn’t this usually happen after you lose your phone? Maybe the scammer got the wrong contact or they’re sending the scam texts indiscriminately.
@Kirin
Lost or stolen, yes. If OP legitimately sold it, they should remove it from their account. But the wording of these messages looks exactly like what scammers send, so I’m guessing it’s stolen.

I did lose my phone 6 months ago and replaced it, which is why I’m considering these texts. There are no links to click, but I keep getting these oddly worded messages with picture instructions.
@Clay
Then that’s your answer. Ignore the messages or tell them to return the phone. Just don’t remove it from Find My iPhone or your Apple ID.

Scam.
Thank you, tim_apple69.
Apple won’t say things like, ‘my daughter is angry, I’m so sad I should KMS.’

Exactly. What more evidence do you need?
Ignore them. Don’t do it.
Scam. Apple doesn’t send those messages.
This doesn’t look official at all. Change your passwords and pins just to be safe. And never click on any links in these messages.
How can anyone not laugh at these scams? They’re so poorly written.
Tell them to go away. And don’t remove your activation lock.
