Did I just ruin my iPhone 15 Pro Max?

You’re probably looking at a screen replacement, which costs around $380 USD. If you don’t have AppleCare+, it’s going to hurt.

It was only a 6-inch drop… ;_;

@Jo
My mom has a 13 Pro Max, and that thing is built like a tank. No idea why the 15 PM seems so fragile. :frowning:

It’s pretty simple. The titanium frame is stiffer, so when the phone drops, the impact doesn’t get absorbed as much—it transfers straight to the glass and the OLED screen underneath. The biggest issue is the back glass. Since it’s now modular instead of glued in place like before, it doesn’t have as much structural support.

You should use a case.

@Madden
I had one on, but I took it off because it was messing with the buttons. Now that I think about it… maybe the screen was already faulty before the drop?

Bet you’re regretting taking that case off now, huh?

Also, get a proper case. If your buttons weren’t working, it was probably a cheap one from TikTok or a gas station.

You should look into getting a higher-quality case. I use one from Torras, and it’s been great.

Some of you either pick the worst cases or just don’t know how to handle a phone. Like others said, you’ll need a screen replacement, and it won’t be cheap unless you have AppleCare+. You should start looking into that now. Once you figure out the cost, invest in a good case. I’ve bought cases from Amazon, AliExpress, and even physical stores, and I’ve never had issues with buttons. If yours was causing problems, you probably just picked a bad one.

My 15 Pro Max is still holding up great, but I keep it in a case with a built-in camera cover and a screen protector, just in case.

Sometimes bad luck just happens. I pulled my phone out of my pocket once and suddenly had lines running down the screen. Turns out my key fob and phone didn’t mix well. Luckily, Apple replaced it under warranty.

No case, no AppleCare? That’s a risky move.

The 15 Pro Max is a tough phone, but sometimes you just hit the wrong spot. My kids treat mine like a frisbee, and it’s survived so far. I have AppleCare+ just in case, and I use a minimal case because the phone is way too slippery.
