Black dot on screen

Hello everyone. I noticed this around a month ago on my iPhone 15 Pro. It’s not from dropping or anything, maybe a screen defect? Should I try to contact if the warranty still covers it?

I have been seeing this issue pop up recently seems like on 15 pros as well… in about the same spot in either side of the display curious to learn more too

This is physical damage to the screen caused by a drop or hard impact. It will only get worse over time. Only fix is a screen replacement.

I’ve never dropped it that hard so I can’t see how it would cause this other than a crack on the screen. Also I always have a screen protector and a case on.

@Peyton
Wdym by “that hard” that means u still dropped it… LOL

@Peyton
Screen “protectors” do nothing to protect the screen (other than from scratches).

Its an OLED

Your phone has cancer so enjoy life while u can still see almost all of your screen. :tv::scorpion::beers:

I have the same problem with my 14 Pro after I fell on it :joy:

The same thing happened to my iPhone 12 Pro, and over time the stain widened a little, not excessively but a little.

Are you under 1 year warranty on your iPhone or do you have AppleCare…?

Nah, there are no official Apple stores in my country but it is still under warranty where I bought it so I’m going to try there.

@Peyton
I understand. I would definitely go to the store that you bought it. Good luck to you.

If you’re 100% sure you haven’t dropped it or any of your family hasn’t dropped it (also can be pets), then I’m pretty sure that occurred when you put it in your pocket. You may have worn tight jeans or something, and when you sat down, you gave it some pressure.

Stupid question: the iPhone restarted? Or restarted with “short loud, short quiet, and long on/off switch until Apple logo appears”? Could also be software-related under certain circumstances.

Sorry but ain’t no way this is software related, 100% physical damage

I don’t remember exactly when this issue appeared but it’s been a lot of updates so I’d rule out software issues. Might be a beta iOS problem though, because I sometimes update to iOS beta.

It’s a dead pixel. I took mine to Apple. I have AppleCare+ and they replaced the screen for free.

Warranty will definitely cover this. It happened to me as well. Just book an appointment with Apple Store. They will just check the phone’s appearance and if there’s no damage found on the body or cracked screen they will replace it for free under warranty. The guy even explained it to me that sometimes during assembly, uneven pressure can cause the display to puncture or something. So no need to worry about it. Get the genuine display replaced under warranty.

Blows my mind when I see questions like this one on Reddit. Since when is having a dead spot normal to not put haste/priority behind to get it fixed instead. Your screen is bleeding either from a drop, forced hit or pressure. It will only get bigger. I would get the screen replaced before it really starts killing pixels that are still working. :teddy_bear::point_left:t5::warning:
