Anyone know an alarm app that checks if you're really awake?

I’m looking for an app that will follow up a few minutes after I turn off the alarm to make sure I haven’t gone back to sleep.

I don’t care about extra features like wake-up challenges. I can do jumping jacks and still fall asleep again. I also don’t want to set a bunch of alarms or hear suggestions about other hacks.

Is there an app that has an “awake check” after the alarm is turned off? I know Android has apps like this, but I can’t find one for iPhone.

Why not try putting a regular alarm clock on the other side of the room? That way, you have to physically get up to turn it off.

I used to do this, and I’d still go back to bed. But after a while, I started setting multiple alarms, and now just hearing that sound makes me jump up to turn it off because it’s so annoying. It’s like a reflex now.

There’s an app called Alarmy that has a wake-up check. After you turn off the alarm, it sends you a notification asking if you’re still awake. If you don’t respond in time, the alarm starts again.

The downside is you have to pay for the premium version to get this feature.

I tried Alarmy, but it drained my battery like crazy. It was using 42% of my battery in one day, so I had to uninstall it.

Do you know the name of the app on Android that does this? How does it figure out if you’re awake? Does it need a smartwatch or something?

I think it just gives you a prompt to respond to. If you don’t reply, the alarm starts again.

I’d love an app like this too, but for the opposite reason. I usually wake up before the alarm, and it’d be great if my phone could recognize that I’m already up so it doesn’t go off.

If you’re using a sleep schedule and turn off sleep mode before the alarm, it should give you an option to cancel the alarm.

@Rin
I didn’t know that! I’ll give it a try. Thanks for the tip.
